Amit Khandelwal

Amit Khandelwal joins Yale as the Dong-Soo Hahn Professor of Economics and of Global Affairs. His research focuses on the link between international trade and economic development. He has studied how trade reforms in China and India affected participation in global markets and firms’ productivity. He holds affiliations at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Council on Foreign Relations, and JPAL. He was previously Chair Editor of The Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Chazen Professor of Global Business and Chair of the Economics Division at Columbia Business School. Amit received a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Northwestern University.
