Marlene Daut

Marlene L. Daut  joins Yale as Full Professor with a joint appointment in the Departments of French and African American Studies. Primarily a literary and intellectual historian of the Caribbean, she writes about the history of the Haitian Revolution, literary cultures of the greater Caribbean, and racial politics in global media. Professor Daut received her B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and her Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. She previously taught at the University of Miami, Claremont Graduate University, and the University of Virginia.
