Joint Boards of Permanent Officers

The Joint Boards of Permanent Officers (JBPO) of Yale College and the Graduate School is a body whose purpose is to vote on issues of appointment. The JBPO is chaired by the FAS Dean and consists of all of the full professors with primary or fully joint appointments in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, as well as any full professors of professional schools who have both secondary appointments in a Faculty of Arts and Sciences department and explicit Corporation approval for such voting rights. Appointments that have been approved by the Tenure and Appointment Committees are passed on to the JBPO for approval before being forwarded to the Yale Corporation for final approval.
