"My coach was instrumental in helping me transition into my leadership role, and her advice was absolutely crucial, especially early in my term. Any success I've had in my leadership role was due in part to the coaching I received early on."

Coaching for Success Application

We are delighted that faculty participation in Coaching for Success continues to increase. In order for our coaches to accommodate the increase in coaching requests, we ask that faculty apply to Coaching for Success by the following deadlines:

  • Friday, October 4, 2024, for coaching during the Fall 2024 semester
  • Tuesday, February 18, 2025, for coaching during the Spring 2025 semester
  • Tuesday, May 20, 2025, for coaching during summer 2025

While we will continue to accept Coaching for Success applications on a rolling basis, we will not be able to guarantee a decision during the current semester if you apply to the program after the deadline for the semester has passed.

Your application should consist of a brief description of your goals, area of focus for coaching, and the potential impact of the proposed coaching on your scholarly and professional life (approximately 150 words). Successful applicants will clearly articulate how coaching will support them in their role at Yale.

Applications from faculty who have not already received coaching support through SAL2 will receive priority. Faculty who have already received repeated SAL2 support through Coaching for Success and who wish to continue working with a coach are welcome to apply with the understanding that we may encourage you to use alternative funds (i.e.: university-allocated research funds, departmental funds, or other university funds) to continue this important work so that we may reserve SAL2 resources for those who have not yet taken advantage of the program.

If you do not have a particular coach in mind, SAL2 program staff will match you with a coach with relevant expertise.
