Sofia Moroni
Lecturer in Economics
Sofia Moroni joins the FAS as a Lecturer in Economics. Her research interests include contract theory and game theory, with a particular focus on dynamic games. She is also interested in matching markets.
Prior to joining Yale, Moroni was a Research Scholar and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Princeton University. Before that, she served as Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her PhD in Economics from Yale University in 2015, where she also completed an MPhil and an MA in Economics. She received an MS in Economics and degrees in Mathematical Engineering from the Universidad de Chile, graduating with maximum distinction.
Moroni has published research in Theoretical Economics and the Journal of Economic Theory. Her recent work examines equilibrium in stochastic games, coordination under private timing, dynamic contracts, and college admissions and matching markets. She has received fellowships from the Cowles Foundation and Yale University, and her professional service includes refereeing for leading economics journals, including Econometrica, the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of Economic Theory, and the Journal of the European Economic Association.
