Response to FASTAP '16 Implementation Committee Recommendations
Dean Tamar Szabó Gendler's response to the FASTAP '16 Implementation Committee's recommendations.
Dear FAS Ladder Faculty:
I write to thank the FASTAP ’16 Implementation Advisory Committee for drafting recommendations concerning the implementation of the new FASTAP 2016 policies, which were endorsed by a formal vote of the FAS faculty in September 2016. I have reviewed the proposal of the Implementation Committee and I am pleased to accept their recommendations.
I am grateful to the committee for developing recommended components and expectations related to best practices for FASTAP ’16. I also thank the FAS department chairs, TAC members, FAS Senate representatives, the General Counsel’s Office, and other colleagues across the FAS who contributed their feedback and guidance regarding this important process.
As suggested by the Implementation Committee, in the coming semesters the FAS Dean’s Office will monitor the implementation of FASTAP ’16 and will consider additional ways to improve upon the committee’s initial recommendations.
I hope you have had a restorative summer and I wish you the best as we prepare for a new academic year.
Sincerely,
Tamar
