How to Have More Time for Writing & Research: Online Workshop

The FAS Dean’s Office invites FAS ladder faculty and Professors in the Practice to join a session on strategies related to time management on Wednesday, September 30 from 2:00-3:30 PM over Zoom.

The facilitator is Rena Seltzer, a faculty and leadership coach, trainer, and author of The Coach’s Guide for Women Professors. A trusted partner to Yale since 2011, she has led workshops and coaching across the Provost’s Office, FAS, the School of Medicine, Public Health, and the SAL2 program. Her work is deeply informed by positive organizational scholarship, and together with her team of affiliate coaches, she empowers academic leaders and faculty to thrive.

This workshop will address topics including ways to:

  • Set boundaries to create oases of time.
  • Make judicious decisions about when to say “yes,” when to say “no,” and when to negotiate the terms of a request or invitation.
  • Manage the flood of emails.
  • Identify areas for “good enough” rather than great performance.
  • Delegate and outsource like your research depends on it.

Date: Wednesday, September 30
Time: 2:00-3:30 PM
Location: Zoom (a link will be shared in the coming weeks).
Register below by Monday, September 28.
