The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) web team provides website support to departments and programs within the FAS, offering unit-specific assistance that supplements the resources provided by the university-wide YaleSites team. We represent the FAS to the YaleSites team, partnering on platform use and enhancements, troubleshooting, and larger efforts to better serve the university and the FAS. Additionally, we liaise with the broader Yale IT community and coordinate with external vendors, as needed.

We are available to build and support websites on the university’s free YaleSites platform, and we assist departments, programs, labs, and centers in leveraging YaleSites to represent their missions while upholding Yale’s technical, accessibility, and design standards. The FAS web team also consults on website and technology policy, strategy, and solutions for the FAS community.

For assistance with other matters, including FAS appointments and promotions, please contact fas.dean@yale.edu.

Support and educational resources

There are many educational and support resources to assist in building and maintaining Yale and FAS websites.

YaleSites offers extensive training and support resources. Please refer to the YaleSites website for training course information. The FAS web team will also be available to conduct small training sessions for FAS community members seeking a more hands-on experience. Dates/times will be announced and posted on this page.

SiteImprove is an easy-to-use tool that aids in website maintenance, helping with items such as broken links, performance and analytics reporting, and fixing accessibility issues. In collaboration with YaleSites staff, the FAS web team will offer demos on how to use SiteImprove and discuss the benefits and importance of its use. Check back for soon for more information.

Yale has policies relating to website accessibility for staff, faculty, and students who develop and maintain websites. The policy can be found on the university’s usability website, along with a number of other resources and an accessibility checklist. If you have any questions, concerns, and other inquiries please contact the FAS web team or email accessibility@yale.edu.

Information pertaining to the policies and standards of the Yale Identity and use of the Yale brand can be found on the Yale Identity website. If you have questions about Yale’s identity and branding guidelines, contact the FAS web team or the Office of the University Printer.

Stay informed

The FAS web team will provide additional updates on new YaleSites features and components (and their uses/benefits), trainings and course reminders, and other web related news & events that would be of interest to the FAS web community. Send us an email to be added to our mail list.
