As Senior Associate Dean, Bob Burger works closely with programs and departments across the FAS. He has been intimately involved in all aspects of administering the Science and Engineering departments in the FAS since taking on the role of an Assistant Provost at Yale in 2006, and also assumed responsibility for the Social Sciences after transitioning to the FAS Dean’s Office in 2015.
A member of the Yale class of 1993, Bob was trained in Geology and Geophysics at Yale (BS), Dartmouth (MS) and The University of Texas at Austin (PhD). Afterwards, he worked in Washington, D.C. as Associate Director of the U.S. Science Support Program, helping to manage the U.S. science community’s participation in the international Ocean Drilling Program. Between degrees, he gained additional experience as an environmental consultant at Rizzo Associates, Inc. and as an exploration geologist at BP-Amoco.
