Halikias Bio Picture

Dimitrios Halikias joins the FAS as Assistant Professor of Political Science, where he studies political theory and the history of political thought. His research focuses on debates over liberalism and capitalism in the long nineteenth century.  

Halikias is currently writing a book manuscript on the means by which nineteenth-century thinkers appealed to medieval feudalism to critique the impersonality of the modern state and economy. His articles have appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, History of Political Thought, The Review of Politics, The Historical Journal, and American Political Thought.  

Halikias holds a BA from Yale in Ethics, Politics, and Economics and a PhD from Harvard in Government. Before joining Yale, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Princeton Society of Fellows.
