Schlag appointed the Phillips Professor of Mathematics

Sam Raskin, James E. English Professor of Mathematics, was awarded a 2025 New Horizons in Mathematics prize from the Breakthrough Prize Foundation. Six Yale physicists were also honored for their work on international scientific experiments.

Schotland, who has made ground-breaking contributions to applied mathematics, joined the Yale faculty in 2020 and holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Physics.

Brock, an internationally recognized mathematician who joined the Yale faculty in 2018, is also dean of the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science.
