  1. Two Yale researchers – Sarah Demers, Professor of Physics and Chair of the Department of Physics, and Farren Isaacs, Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and of Biomedical Engineering – will integrate AI technologies with scientific investigations through awards from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission initiative.

  3. Robert G. Wheeler, a condensed matter physicist and prominent Yale administrator for 40 years, who had a second remarkable career as an expert on Chinese and Japanese porcelain, died on May 31 in Guilford, Connecticut after a long illness. He was 97.

  5. For a new study, Christopher Lynn (Assistant Professor of Physics), who normally probes the complexity of thousands of neurons acting in concert, flips his perspective to look at behaviors of individual neurons.

  6. Yale's Priyamvada Natarajan, Joseph S. and Sophia S. Fruton Professor of Astronomy and Professor of Physics, and her team stress-tested the standard model of cold dark matter and came away with some intriguing new possibilities.

  7. Larry Gladney, FAS Dean of Science, and other FAS faculty members showcased Wright Lab's quantum research during a recent visit of the UK Science &Technology Network (STN) and the British American Parliamentary Group (BAPG).

  8. In a new Comment in Nature Physics, Assistant Professor of Physics Chiara Mingarelli dives into the Nobel Prize nomination archives to understand how scientific recognition really works. The piece was inspired in part by the excitement of seeing our own colleague Michel Devoret recognized as a 2025 Nobel Laureate.

  9. A group from Brookhaven National Laboratory visited Yale Wright Laboratory to discuss ongoing scientific collaborations, including joint work on the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), and to explore new opportunities to develop instrumentation for fundamental physics.
