Reminders: Submitting expanded course descriptions and approving enrollments

This message urges instructors to upload expanded course descriptions for spring 2023 courses even if they have missed the October 31, 2022 deadline for doing so. 

It also provides information about approving enrollments by November 28, 2022, in courses that need instructor permission.

Uploading expanded course descriptions

Dear Yale College instructors,

With student registration well underway for Spring 2023 courses, we encourage you to upload your expanded course descriptions now if you have not done so already. Expanded course descriptions enable students to make informed decisions about their courses for the coming semester and are an important tool in the registration process.

Our October 12 message described the registration timeline and offered a link to the Canvas site where you can submit your extended description. For your convenience, here is that link again.

If you need assistance with your expanded course description, you may write to the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning at askpoorvu@yale.edu.

Approving enrollments

Students from all class years now have access to the course registration system for the spring term. If any of your courses require instructor permission to enroll, you have likely received requests within the Yale Course Search system. You may respond to these request by approving the request, denying the request, or leaving the request open by taking no action. You may review these requests on a rolling basis in the coming days at your convenience, but please admit your initial cohort of students by no later than Monday, November 28.
