Enrique M. De La Cruz Named 2025 Biophysical Society Fellow
De La Cruz was selected for his pioneering research on the mechanisms of the actin cytoskeleton and molecular motor proteins.
Enrique M. De La Cruz, William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry in Yale's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, has been named a 2025 Biophysical Society Fellow.
The fellowship honors members of the society who have “demonstrated excellence in science and contributed to the expansion of the field of biophysics.”
De La Cruz was selected for his pioneering research on the mechanisms of the actin cytoskeleton and molecular motor proteins.
Speaking about the award, De La Cruz said: "It is humbling to be named a Biophysical Society Fellow, as it is an honor to be formally recognized by my colleagues and the Society for the research, teaching, and service work I’ve done to advance biophysics."
De La Cruz and the other six 2025 fellows will be honored at the Biophysical Society’s 69th Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, CA from February 15-19.
The Biophysical Society is a professional, scientific society established in 1958 to lead an innovative global community working at the interface of the physical and life sciences, across all levels of complexity, and to foster the dissemination of that knowledge.
