Dear colleagues,

We are writing to share information pertaining to the faculty search process for 2023-24 and beyond.

The Office of Faculty Administrative Services (OFAS) in conjunction with the Office of the Provost recently launched the Faculty Search Reporting Process (FSRP), which replaces the Interview Approval Form (IAF) and Faculty Search Questionnaire (FSQ) previously used for all ladder and multi-year instructional faculty searches. The FSRP is a new online system that will be used in the administration of faculty searches university-wide.

Key changes

The FSRP system is designed to streamline workflow for departments, help ensure compliance with federal regulations, and allow for more robust record-keeping and reporting. Key changes include the following:

  • Search committees will no longer need to rank the shortlisted candidates or provide a narrative justification explaining why each candidate meets the posted criteria and merits a certain ranking.
  • Documents that previously had to be downloaded from Interfolio and manually combined within the FSQ PDF (e.g., candidate materials, EEO report) will now be automatically incorporated into the FSRP interface.
  • Decanal and provostial approvals will take place prior to the campus interview stage, and the Office of Institutional Equity and Accessibility will no longer be involved after approving ad text in Interfolio, allowing offers to be made more quickly at the conclusion of a search.
  • To fulfill the university’s obligation to comply with the Department of Labor’s federal guidelines, and to allow the FSRP to function efficiently, maintaining applicant and position statuses in Interfolio will be critical and the outcome of each applicant’s candidacy will need to be marked using a new set of disposition codes.
     

Staff training sessions

Training will be provided by OFAS to chair’s assistants and other faculty affairs staff in two parts: one session will focus on Interfolio statuses and the use of disposition codes; the other session will focus on FSRP and the submission process.

All staff who support faculty searches are required to attend one instance of each training session; each will be offered twice via Zoom. Please register using the links below.
