Dawn Upshaw

Dawn Upshaw joins the FAS as Professor in the Practice of Music. A six-time Grammy Award winner, MacArthur Fellow, and Opera Hall of Fame inductee, Upshaw is a classically trained singer known particularly for expanding the boundaries of vocal performance and contemporary music. At Yale, she will teach classes ranging from vocal repertory courses to the development of vocal chamber music.
