Theodor Misiakiewicz

Theodor Misiakiewicz joins the FAS as Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science. His research lies at the intersection of statistics, machine learning, and computer science, leveraging tools from statistical physics, random matrix theory, and high-dimensional probability. His primary goal is to develop theoretical foundations for modern machine learning paradigms, including deep learning, with a particular focus on understanding the various statistical and computational bottlenecks in large-scale learning systems. Prior to Yale, Misiakiewicz completed his PhD in Statistics at Stanford University and spent a year as a Research Assistant Professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago.
