Shirley Wang
Shirley Wang joins the FAS as Assistant Professor of Psychology. She received her BA from the College of New Jersey, her PhD from Harvard University in Clinical Psychology and Computational Science & Engineering, and completed her predoctoral clinical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wang’s research aims to develop and harness methods that can capture and model the immense complexity of psychopathology, including mathematical, computational, and intensive longitudinal methods. A central focus of this work is on advancing the understanding, prediction, and prevention of suicide, nonsuicidal self-injury, and eating disorders. Her work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and published in over 50 scientific papers and book chapters. Her research and mentorship have also been recognized through the receipt of several awards, and she was recently listed as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Healthcare.
