Michelle Wong
Michelle Wong joins Yale as Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Wong is an ecosystem ecologist and biogeochemist. She studies how plants and microbes interact with nutrient availability to shape terrestrial ecosystem responses to global change. Her research asks how terrestrial ecosystems overcome nutrient limitation to facilitate carbon storage in plant biomass and soils. Wong was formerly a postdoc at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. She received her Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Cornell and her bachelor’s degrees in Molecular Environmental Biology and Sociology at UC Berkeley.
