Laura Havener
Laura Havener joins Yale as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics. Havener’s research focuses on experimentally studying the strong nuclear force using high-energy particle colliders. Specifically, she is interested in understanding the properties and dynamics of the deconfined state of quark matter (QCD) called the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), produced in heavy-ion collisions. She obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from Columbia University in 2018 and a B.S. in physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
