Mengxia Liu
Mengxia Liu will join Yale University’s Department of Electrical Engineering as an Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on the design and implementation of the next generation of optoelectronic materials for applications in energy, sensing, and information technologies. She is interested in probing and leveraging the unique electronic, optical, and transport properties of emerging semiconductors, with an emphasis on nanostructured materials and hybrid systems. Mengxia is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2018, and B.E. from Tianjin University in 2014. She has published more than 40 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, and Nature Energy. She was selected as an MIT EECS Rising Star in 2018, recognized with the 2019 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Seal of Excellence Award and Hatch Graduate Scholarship, among other honors.
