Amir Pahlavan

Amir Pahlavan joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Material Science at Yale University as an Assistant Professor in July 2021. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, followed by a postdoctoral training at Princeton University. His research interest is in the area of fluid mechanics, soft matter and biophysics, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of problems such as active/passive transport of bacteria and colloids in complex and crowded environments, osmotic transport of water and nutrients in trees, and CO2 sequestration.
