Eduardo Reyes

Eduardo Reyes joins the FAS as Gibbs Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Originally from Chile, Eduardo earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in Santiago. In 2023 he received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, supervised by Ian Agol. Before Yale, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Plank Institute in Bonn, Germany. Eduardo’s research is in the area of Geometric Group Theory with a focus on isometric actions on non-positively curved spaces. He is interested in understanding how different group actions interact, using tools from coarse hyperbolic geometry, CAT(0) geometry, cubical structures, probability, and dynamics.
