Yifeng Liu

Associate Professor of Mathematics

Yifeng Liu joins Yale as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics. Liu’s fields of research are Number Theory and Algebraic Geometry. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the AIM SQuaREs Grant, and the Sloan Research Fellowship. His papers have been published in oulets such as Algebraic Geometry, Annales Scientifiques de l’École Normale Supérieure, Journal of the European Mathematical Society, and Journal für die reine und angewandte, among others. Liu was a C.L.E. Moore Instructor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2012 through 2015, and an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University from 2015 through 2018. He obtained his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2012 and his B.S. in Mathematics from Peking University in 2007.
