Dear FAS and SEAS faculty,

By longstanding tradition, Thursday afternoons from 4-6pm have been reserved for meetings of the faculty in various configurations. To allow as many of us as possible to attend such events, we ask that you hold that time free each week. This will allow us to gather for Yale College Faculty meetings, FAS and/or SEAS Faculty meetings, and meetings of the Joint Boards of Permanent Officers, each of which stands as the venue for certain sorts of faculty decision-making and discussion, and will allow faculty to attend meetings hosted by the FAS/SEAS Faculty Senate, which serves as an advisory body and as a forum and deliberative body for the discussion of FAS/SEAS issues.

The meetings listed below take place on Thursdays between 4:00 and 6:00 PM, unless otherwise noted. Please note that the schedule below is provisional; all dates are tentative and subject to change. Note also that certain meetings are restricted to certain groups of faculty. Eligibility details are available in sections IV.G  and V.F of the Faculty Handbook; governance details are available in Section 30 of the Yale Bylaws.

We look forward to welcoming President Maurie McInnis as a guest speaker at a series of in-person meetings with subsets of the FAS and SEAS Faculty that will take place this fall. Further information about these meetings is forthcoming.
