Dear colleagues:
It is my great pleasure to begin the new academic year with a note of welcome to the newest members of the FAS faculty. A total of 61 new ladder and multi-year instructional colleagues will join the FAS during 2023-24, bringing the FAS/SEAS ladder faculty headcount to a record size of 721. Forty-eight new ladder faculty arrive in New Haven this year: 36 have joined us for the start of the fall semester, four more join in January, and eight will be here as visitors during the 2023-2024 academic year before joining the ladder faculty. We also welcome 13 faculty members newly appointed to multi-year instructional positions. I hope you will join me in welcoming these extraordinary colleagues to the FAS community.
