Christopher Lynn

Christopher Lynn joins Yale as Assistant Professor of Physics, a member of the Quantitative Biology Institute, and a member of the Wu Tsai Institute in January 2024. Lynn studies the statistical mechanics of the brain. Using ideas from statistical physics, information theory, and network science, Lynn’s group seeks to understand how large-scale features of the brain – such as cognition, information processing, and computations – emerge from networks of fine-scale interactions. Previously, he was a James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton and the City University of New York. Lynn received his Ph.D. in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Pennsylvania and B.A.’s with high honors in Physics and Mathematics from Swarthmore College.
