Beverly Gage’s G-Man receives major recognition

G-MAN: J. Edgar Hoover and the Making of the American Century, the new book by Professor of History and American Studies Beverly Gage, has been named a 2022 New York Times Notable Book and one of the ten best books of 2022 by the Washington Post. The book details the life of Hoover, the first director of the F.B.I., who led the intelligence agency for more than 40 years. Gage’s book has been recognized as a ground-breaking text on one of the most controversial figures in modern U.S. History.
