Orazio Attanasio and Isabela Mares were appointed to endowed professorships.

Attanasio, named as the Cowles Professor of Economics, focuses his research on household consumption, saving, and labor supply behavior; risk sharing; evaluation and design of policies in developing countries; human capital accumulation in developing countries; early years interventions; micro credit; and measurement tools in surveys. Mares, appointed as the Arnold Wolfers Professor of Political Science, focuses her research on a range of topics in comparative politics and political economy, including democratization, clientelism and corruption, taxation and fiscal capacity development, and social policy reforms in both developed and developing countries.
