  3. Daniel Spielman, Sterling Professor of Computer Science and Professor of Statistics and Data Science and of Mathematics, was featured in Scientific American as a leading academic calling for AI companies to be more transparent about claims that models can do pure mathematics.

  4. Junliang Shen, Associate Professor of Mathematics, received a 2024–25 Arthur Greer Memorial Prize from the FAS for his innovative use of algebraic geometry to solve questions in topology, geometry, and mathematical physics.

  6. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences this week recognized Priyasha Mukhopadhyay, Samuel McDougle, and Junliang Shen for scholarly achievements in their respective fields.

  7. Sam Raskin, James E. English Professor of Mathematics, was awarded a 2025 New Horizons in Mathematics prize from the Breakthrough Prize Foundation. Six Yale physicists were also honored for their work on international scientific experiments.

  8. Schotland, who has made ground-breaking contributions to applied mathematics, joined the Yale faculty in 2020 and holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Physics.

  9. Brock, an internationally recognized mathematician who joined the Yale faculty in 2018, is also dean of the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science.
