Dear colleagues,

We are writing to provide information on whom to contact in the FAS Dean's Office on various topics. Note that this is not a full listing of FAS Dean's Office staff (see our directory), but rather a list of people who can assist with the most common questions that we receive.

As a reminder, questions can always be directed to fas.dean@yale.edu and the appropriate member of the team will respond.

Division-specific questions

Humanities

Marc Robinson, FAS Dean of Humanities, is supported by Carolyn Kyrtopoulos.

John Mangan, Senior Associate Dean and Dean of Faculty Affairs, supports humanities units and oversees faculty affairs FAS-wide. John is supported by Carolyn Kyrtopoulos.

Jason Zentz, Senior Associate Dean, supports lecturer-track faculty in the Department of English and all lector-track faculty. Jason is supported by Samantha Gamez.

Social Science

Tony Smith is the FAS Dean of Social Science.  As we search to fill a vacancy, temporary support for Tony is being given by Tim Sandrey.

Bob Burger, Senior Associate Dean, and Dorottya Noble, Associate Dean, support social science and science units. Bob is supported by Samantha Gamez and, as we search to fill a vacancy, temporary support for Doro is being given by Mackenzie Marien. 

Science

Ronald Breaker, FAS Dean of Science, is supported by Nicole Gilmore.

Bob Burger, Senior Associate Dean, and Dorottya Noble, Associate Dean, support social science and science units. Bob is supported by Samantha Gamez and, as we search to fill a vacancy, temporary support for Doro is being given by Mackenzie Marien.

Academic policies and processes

Jason Zentz, Senior Associate Dean, is responsible for all ladder faculty searches and leads the academic policies and process team.

Taylor Mascari, Assistant Director of Faculty Affairs, supports ladder faculty review, promotion, and tenure processes, including the Tenure and Appointments Committees and the Joint Boards of Permanent Officers.

Samantha Gamez, Senior Administrative Assistant 2, supports all ladder faculty search procedures and the Faculty Resource Committee.

Patrick Myers, Senior Administrative Assistant 2, supports all instructional faculty procedures, including searches, reappointment and promotion reviews, and TRAC requests. Patrick also supports the leave application process for instructional faculty and non-tenured ladder faculty in Interfolio.

Carolyn Kyrtopoulos, Senior Administrative Assistant 2, supports secondary appointment processes.

FAS Dean administrative support

Kathryn Dunn has joined the FAS Dean's Office as the Senior Executive Assistant to FAS Dean Steven Wilkinson. Please contact Kathy for requests involving Dean Wilkinson.

Communications

Alexandra Apolloni, Associate Dean, Strategic Initiatives and Communications, manages FAS Dean's Office communications.

Lindsey Christiani, Communications Specialist, supports FAS Dean's Office communications, including email and the FAS website. News items can be submitted via webform.

Faculty development

The Scholars as Leaders; Scholars as Learners (SAL2) program is managed by Natalie DeVaull-Robichaud, Project Specialist for Communications and Faculty Development Programming. Contact sal2.fas@yale.edu with any questions.

Centralized support

Anat Yogev, Director, Staff Operations, provides strategic leadership and guidance on workforce matters, labor relations, and staff development, across the FAS.

The FASDO Finance Team, Linda Relyea and Christina Wethington, can be reached at fasdo.finops@yale.edu for questions or concerns regarding budgeting, research funding, the FAS faculty lunch program, and faculty salary processes.

Julie Sweigard, Assistant Director of Administration & Operations, supports staff hiring in FAS academic units and coordinates temporary support through FAS floaters for administrative, registrar, and faculty appointments and promotions needs.

Nadine Gannam, Faculty Appointments and Promotions Specialist, supports academic units with faculty search, review, appointment, promotion, and tenure processes. Contact Julie Sweigard to request Nadine's assistance.
