Peter Harrington joins the FAS as Lecturer in Mathematics. He earned his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Alberta and held a Teaching Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of British Columbia. His mathematical research is broadly focused on the dynamics of marine metapopulations with a specific focus on the spread of sea lice between salmon farms off the coast of British Columbia. His pedagogical research is focused on the necessary supports for group work in large classes, the inclusion of climate science in math courses, and the effect of mastery grading on student test anxiety.
