Gilles Mordant
Gibbs Assistant Professor of Mathematics
Gilles Mordant joins the FAS as Gibbs Assistant Professor of Mathematics. His research interests include optimal transport, statistics, and mathematics for biological applications. He comes from Belgium, where he earned a PhD in Mathematical Statistics working on statistics with optimal transport. He then became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Göttingen in Germany. Gilles enjoys cycling, bouldering, and hiking.
