Cruz Godar

Cruz Godar joins the FAS as Lecturer in Mathematics. They attended Cal Poly in Central California before receiving their PhD from the University of Oregon, where they served as the instructor of record for 10 different courses. They have been committed to creating thoughtful, accessible, interactive course notes that allow them to run a partially-flipped classroom, and are interested in incorporating methods of inquiry-based learning into their future teaching. Godar has also had the chance to pursue mathematical illustration and has created over 40 interactive applets for real-time, high-quality visualizations of fractals and related mathematical objects, available at cruzgodar.com. Their research is in combinatorics and focuses on plane partitions, their many generalizations, and bijections between them.
