Earlier today, you received a message from Scott Strobel and Jack Callahan that extended the return-to-campus timeline for staff who are not in student-, faculty-, or patient-facing roles. You may have questions how these policies apply to you or to the staff in your unit, and we are writing to clarify our path forward for the Fall 2021 term in the FAS, Yale College, and GSAS.
Staff may be wondering how these policies affect the timing of their return to campus. You can expect answers in the coming days. This week, we will communicate our expectations for on-campus work for FAS, Yale College, and GSAS staff to Lead Administrators, who will then share them with the supervisors and staff in their units. We are grateful for your patience as we finalize these plans.
Faculty may be wondering whether today’s announcement affects plans for in-person teaching. Fall 2021 teaching will take place on campus and in person, as planned. Faculty will need to return to campus to teach. Those who are unable to come to campus may request accommodations using the process outlined in the memo sent on August 5.
