[Summary: For children age 5-12, university-sponsored childcare options include programs at the Phyllis Bodel Child Care Center at the Yale School of Medicine and at Bright Horizons at Yale West Campus. An additional program in an FAS building on central campus may be introduced if there is sufficient demand. Please email email@example.com by Friday, October 2 to indicate interest.]
FAS Faculty and Staff,
We have heard from many of you about concerns regarding childcare during the pandemic and we are grateful to all of those who have shared your thoughts and experiences regarding this challenging issue.
The university’s Navigating Childcare Resources page outlines the Yale-sponsored childcare options that are currently available. Today, I write to alert you to options available for school-aged children.
Two of the Yale-affiliated childcare centers are offering programs for school-aged children (ages 5-12) enrolled in virtual learning. The Phyllis Bodel Child Care Center at the Yale School of Medicine, located at 100 Church Street South, has a few spaces remaining in its new program at a cost of $95-$380 per week, depending on the number of days of care per week. Bright Horizons at Yale West Campus is getting ready to ramp up their program, pending enrollment; their cost ranges from $243-$442 per week, depending on the number of days of care per week. Contact the Bodel Center or Bright Horizons directly for enrollment information. You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have other questions about school-age programs, including schedules and fees.
In addition, we are exploring making an option for childcare for school-aged children available in an FAS building on central campus, if there is sufficient interest. While the cost will vary depending on the number of days per week, we estimate that five days of care per week will cost $380-$442. If you may be interested, please email email@example.com with “childcare for school-aged children” in the subject line by Friday, October 2.
Thank you for all that you do for the FAS.
