James Farre

James Farre joins Yale as a Gibbs Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. He received a PhD in mathematics from the University of Utah in 2019 and a BS in mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin in 2012.  His research focuses on understanding geometric and dynamical aspects of deformations spaces of geometric structures.  Prior to focusing his attention on mathematics, James was in in a full time training program in classical ballet at the Houston Ballet Academy.  In his free time, James is an avid climber, enjoys ecstatic dance, and likes cycling.
