Joran Booth

Lecturer & Associate Research Scientist of Mechanical Engineering and Material Science

Joran Booth received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2016, shortly after becoming a postdoctoral researcher at Yale. His area of study is design for soft robotics, drawing from his past research in soft robotics and design theory. This fall, he is teaching MENG 325: “Machine Elements and Manufacturing Processes”, MENG 471/473: “Special Projects I,” and providing support to MENG 487: “Mechanical Design: Process and Implementation I.” In the spring, he will teach MENG 185: “Mechanical Design”, MENG 488: “Mechanical Design: Process and Implementation II,” and MENG 471/473: “Special Projects II.”
