Itziar Ochoa de Alaiza

Lecturer in Mathematics

Itziar Ochoa de Alaiza received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her area of research is geometric representation theory. While being a Ph.D. student, she taught many different class formats, such as online classes, active learning, and classes focused on underrepresented students, among others. She works at the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Department of Mathematics, striving to come up with interesting teaching strategies and undergraduate research projects. This fall she is teaching MATH 115: “Integral Calculus” and MATH 120: “Multi-variable Calculus.” In the spring, apart from MATH 115, she is teaching MATH 111: “Precalculus and Differential Calculus.”
