Richard C. Levin, B.A. Stanford University, M.A. Oxford University, Ph.D. Yale, you retire today from your professorial position after retiring last year from your presidential one. You specifically requested of the dean of Yale College that there be no tribute read for this retirement since the tribute read here last May was full, generous and appreciated. Acknowledging that the Yale historical record probably needs little further account of your accomplishments, the Yale College faculty nevertheless wishes to mark this occasion by offering you its heartfelt wishes, conceding that further expressions of its gratitude would indeed be an act of supererogation.
