The Yale Faculty of Arts and Sciences’ Scholars as Leaders; Scholars as Learners (SAL2) program hosted Leadership as Scholarship: Faculty Leadership at Yale and Beyond, a panel featuring Maurie McInnis, President of Stony Brook University, and Catharine Bond Hill, past president of Vassar College and managing director of Ithaka S&R, both of whom serve on the Yale Board of Trustees. Yale President Peter Salovey moderated the conversation in front of an audience of FAS Dean’s Leadership Fellows and other members of the FAS faculty. During the conversation, the panelists discussed the role of faculty leaders as stewards of scholarly community and intellectual work, the challenges and possibilities offered by academic leadership roles, and the many pathways to academic leadership.
