Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the expansion of the Instructional Faculty Conference Travel Grants program initially launched in 2016 as a pilot. This program has successfully helped our instructional faculty recipients to enhance their professional development as teachers.

Effective in academic year 2023-24, the annual maximum award has been increased from $500 to $1500 per person per academic year, to be used to support travel to conferences that relate directly to the applicant’s teaching or related pedagogical research or development. We have also expanded the group of faculty eligible for this program to include all benefits-eligible instructional (non-ladder) faculty on multi-year appointments, starting in their first year of their initial multi-year appointment.

Further information regarding eligibility, the application process and criteria, and guidelines for the grants can be found on the FAS website.

Questions should be directed to Jason Zentz, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at jason.zentz@yale.edu.

Best wishes, and thank you for your many contributions to our academic community,

Tamar
