Bao Chau (“Beau”) Ruland joins the FAS Dean’s Office Staff as Senior Executive Assistant to the Dean of the FAS. Beau comes to Yale with a wide range of experience and skills. In 2007, Beau earned her JD from the City University of New York School of Law, and spent the next several years acting as either corporate counsel or compliance director for the financial services departments of large, multi-national insurance corporations. Seeking a change from the corporate world, Beau left her last employer in late 2016 to pursue opportunities in the contract arena. Her first appointment was with the Yale Office of the General Counsel, where she supported Rich Jacob and the Office of Federal Relations, before moving to the FAS Dean’s Office in the summer of 2017. Beau’s husband is a freelance trumpet player and teacher, and her six-year old son takes dancing and swimming lessons. To complement this active home life, Beau enjoys meditating and gardening.
